Starting in 1994, Suzanne de la Torre designs were sold only in upscale boutiques throughout the United States and Canada.
"Although the wholesale apparel markets allows you to travel and meet many interesting people, I realized that in the day to day challenge of production you loose the time to design which is my favorite part. So I stopped selling wholesale and started selling my designs myself."
Suzanne and her oldest daughter Leana, travelled throughout Washington, Oregon, California and Idaho doing juried Arts and Craft Fairs, about 15 a year.
"On the weekends that there were no fairs, we pulled out the rolling racks and went to Farmers Markets, we had a ball!"
Suzanne's educational background focused on clothing construction, textiles and art. "I'm at my happiest combining all three."
"I am so lucky to be inspired daily by the love and encouragement from the best family in world, Cara: whose unwaivering strength is an inspiration on all levels, Leana & Iaan: who are both so creative and fun to be with, except when Leana loses a poker game, Stanley: who is my best friend and the funest person I've ever known, and my biggest fan, my mom, Maryanna, who not only told me, but truly believed, everything I've ever made was beautiful, even if it wasn't."
